We worked during the week with four technique workshops- Decopage, acyllic canvas painting, word art and collage. The pupils were divided up into four mixed groups of eight pupils. The idea was to create"New from Old"

 

Decopage-Using collected historical images from our home countries and local areas we recycled old furniture by over layering images and varnishing them in place.
 

Acryllic painting- We made use of the Prisma app on the ipad to recreate old pictures in a stylized way. These images were then painted onto canvases whilst working in groups.
 

Word Art- using apps such as WordFoto, Wordsalad and TagCloud. Pupils produced pieces based around important words taken from our historical sites.
 

Collage-once again the idea here was recyckling new images from old materials. Using original images as a theme scrap materials and rubbish were used to create new art works.

Co spaces- The final group created a digital gallery within a 3 dimensional virtual world. Being creative and working within a 3 d environment the Co Space app allowed us to visualize what it is like to create a gallery for our work.

 

The week was productive producing 40 individual pieces of group work that were then displayed at a school exhibition. The work is intended to make appearances at other exhibitions in the future.
