Workshop 1 - Klaipeda, Lithuania
Welcome again to our blog for the project "Inimation in Clay". Soon some of us will be making our way to Catalonia for the second series of workshops as preparation for our project. This will be the 2nd visit as back in October we visited the Simon Dacho school in the wonderful town of Klaipeda in Lithuania.
The first workshops here were based around telling a story with pictures. We learned a lot from their expert of how to draw storyboards which is very important for our filming. This was followed by an interesting guided tour of the town of Klaipeda followed by a treasure hunt. The following days workshops involved group work and expanding our ideas of a story. We also made visits to a local puppet theatre and lighthouse before having a workshop with an expert on the history of Weather Vanes in Coronian Lagoon, at a local art house. On the Friday evening we enjoyed a cultural evening at the school, with songs, games and even local traditional Lithuanian food, all followed by a disco. On the final day we made a sight seeing trip to the Curonian spit (a beautiful world heritage site) followed by a walk through the forest of sculptures in Juodkrante were we learned the legends of the area. The trip was very useful and a lot of fun because it was so well organised. Many thanks to the teachers and pupils of the Simon Dacho School and especially the families who looked after us.
