Workshop 2 - Navás, Catalonia

We have just returned from the the 2 nd set of workshops in Navas in Catalonia. The week started when we arrived on the 3 rd of March in Barcelona Airport. We then took the bus to be met with a warm Catalonian welcome of our host families at the school EDN in Navas.

Wednesday started with warm ups before starting our first workshop in clay modelling. We used different coloured plastacene to create a character from the Castelle celebration. We then made a treasure hunt around the town, everyone was competitive but still had a lot of fun!

On Thursday we had two workshops,modifying playmobil figures and 3 d printmaking.Both were very interesting and useful to our project. We also got the chance to design our own T shirts with the Inimation in clay logo.We were all very creative and the results were great!

Friday was a busy day starting with a workshop of plastic foam to form a character followed by designing the main character of our film "The Clump". We now know what it will look like in our film!

Friday afternoon was spent in the nearby town of Berga learning all the history behind the festival of "La Patum". It would certainly be a great place to visit in June during the festival. We returned to school and prepared for the culture evening. The parents had done a fantastic job of making delicious food for the party many thanks to all involved for a great evening.

Saturday started early with a day's sightseeing in Montserrat followed by a trip into the centre of Barcelona and a visit to Sagrada Familia, the Gaudi inspired church and one of Barcelona's most famous landmarks.

Sunday started very early as we said goodbye to our hosts and thanked them for a wonderful visit before starting our journeys home. It was a fantastic experience to visit Catalonia that we will never forget. Thanks to Ceci and the rest of the staff at EDN, the hosts and the parents for making us all feel so welcome in your beautiful country.
